Make this cheerful sewing machine mat for your sewing room!  It has four fun pockets and one pretty thread bag that detaches for easy emptying!!  The best part of all is the TOOL STRIP!  My favorite! If you have metal bobbins, the MAGNETIC tool strip can be the width of your mat!  It’s so handy!  Don’t worry – if your bobbins are plastic or cardboard, you can include the cute bobbin pockets in your tool strip.  Make sure you include a few magnetic blocks for your scissors, tweezers, needles, seam ripper, etc. Click here to find my magnets.

You can also customize the mat to fit your space.  Do you want the mat to be longer or wider?  Need a cutout for a knee lift?  No problem.  The instructions include different ways to customize the mat.

Sew Something is made with a 5″ x 7″ hoop.  Each block is made in the hoop, then the blocks are pieced together. Detailed instructions to make the Sew Something Mat from start to finish are included in a PDF file.

The mat shown measures 27½” by 31½”.  The drop (from the tool strip to the bottom of the pockets) is 9″.  The drop without the tool strip is 7″.  You can customize your mat to fit your space.  Samples of different size mats have been included in the instructions.

Click here to add magnets to your cart!  Each magnetic section holds four magnets.  If you use magnets all the way across the tool strip (and leave out the little pockets), you will need 22 magnets,
